COMMERCIAL SOLAR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

TRITEC Americas, a leading commercial solar energy developer, finance company and asset manager, is seeking a highly qualified Commercial Solar Business Development Manager. A successful candidate will utilize her/his existing network to create project opportunities and lasting partnerships. This is a tremendous opportunity for the right candidate, with unlimited earning potential including base pay, commission, bonus potential and benefits.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Effective at setting qualified leads

  • Target project size range is 50kW-5MW

  • Completion of full sales cycle activities

  • Communicate with customers to schedule work and coordinate services

  • Participate in team meetings to ensure project updates and to improve processes

  • Lead generation, including cold calling, community events and networking

  • Offering customers solutions to their energy goals, providing value to the customers

  • In-person consultations to determine needs of commercial building owners

  • Maintain knowledge of current commercial solar incentives

  • Work in conjunction with the administration staff throughout the sales process

  • Meet monthly sales quotas

  • Consistently close deals

  • Generate new business opportunities and channels

  • Identify, generate and evaluate solar project development opportunities for business owners

  • Understand the solar tax environment, financing and energy cost structure within their respective region

  • Have the ability to develop, negotiate and close power purchase agreements, leases and cash sales with commercial clients

  • Assess development opportunities and have the ability to effectively communicate project plans, challenges and necessary outcomes to management

  • Effectively present TRITEC Americas and its capabilities, including options for project financing, to prospective clients

  • Prepare and deliver proposals and RFP responses

  • Develop and manage a pipeline of prospects and projects

  • Communicate with project managers regarding project status and details

  • Respond to leads or opportunities in a timely manner, ideally same day but always within 24 hours. If you cannot professionally service the lead, notify administration so that it may be re-assigned

  • Canvass neighborhoods as time permits and distribute marketing information

  • Successfully negotiate contracts with customers. This includes helping answer customer questions, addressing concerns and assisting the customer as needed with financing options

  • Submit all executed contracts to TRITEC Americas’ office within 24 hours of signing

  • Always hold customer service and satisfaction in the highest regard

  • Work cohesively with all TRITEC Americas employees and maintain a positive, professional attitude

  • Inspect the customer’s property and assess existing conditions for project suitability

  • Actively work to cultivate, gather and assist customer referrals

  • Attend all company meetings and trainings as directed by management

  • Learn and stay current on contracts, market trends, utility rates, solar laws and fire codes

  • Maintain expertise on new solar industry products, applications, and system designs

  • Visit customers at project completion to ensure satisfaction and understanding of product installed

  • Actively manage pipeline using Company’s CRM portal. Update all customer information, lead status, and communication with notes in CRM on a daily basis

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in commercial solar project development

  • 5 years of sales experience

  • 2 years of B2B sales

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Professional appearance

  • Detail oriented with exceptional organization skills

  • Ability to understand finance models and various types of finance packages based on the client’s needs

  • Self-motivator

  • Ability to effectively work independently

  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

  • A willingness to learn

  • Computer literacy and utilization of programs such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Quickbase

  • Ability to successfully pass a drug screening and background check

  • Advanced understanding of commercial solar PV system design

PROJECT ANALYST

The Project Analyst plays a key role in evaluating, estimating and designing projects for TRITEC Americas. Project oversight and ensuring quality control through the project evaluation and proposal generation life cycles are central to this position. The Project Analyst will enable operational development teams to successfully meet company objectives including meeting or exceeding requirements while adhering to schedule targets. The role will require project estimation skills and knowledge to facilitate quick and logical project estimation decisions and work prioritization.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze commercial utility data to establish the customer’s avoided cost, potential beneficial rate schedule changes, and determine the optimal solar system size

  • Executing full project site analyses, including determining available space for the solar arrays, optimal azimuth positioning, potential shading issues and the ideal solar system sizing based of the customer’s utility usage

  • Generate PV SYST report analyses detailing expected solar system production

  • Interface effectively with TRITEC Americas’ customers in acquiring access to utility data

  • Develop and manage project timelines and schedules for all aspects of assigned tasks and projects.

  • Database management and data entry to track TRITEC Americas pipeline and projects within the proposal generation life cycle

  • Follow best practices and process improvements within TRITEC Americas’ CRM to maintain data integrity

  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to understanding and facilitating development of the solar proposal generation and solar system sizing estimation processes, maintaining database integrity.

  • Maximize efficacy of TRITEC Americas sales and project management platform

  • Coordinate and interface on a regular basis with management to ensure communication and understanding of proposal/project objectives and the most efficient and productive utilization of resources

  • Effectively escalate high priority mission critical issues to TRITEC Americas senior management

  • Additional projects as requested by management

Qualifications:

  • Thorough understanding and comprehension of commercial utility data and rate schedules

  • Significant project estimation experience including system sizing and proposal generation through third party tools such as Energy Toolbase or similar

  • Ability to concurrently handle multiple project assignments.

  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills required.

  • Must be able to influence senior leaders in the organization and produce well thought out and complete decision material.

  • Forward thinking team player who can challenge the team to think outside of the box.

  • Creative problem solver with ability to execute ideas and stay focused on the end goal.

  • Flexible and adaptive; able to explore many ideas simultaneously.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Products including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Proficient in Intuit Products including Quickbase

  • Substantial experience with PV SYST

  • Strong process orientation and a solid understanding of project estimation techniques, methodologies and best practices.

  • Self-motivated; able to work independently while coordinating activities with cross-divisional teams in remote locations.

  • Team player; able to communicate with technical and business experts at all levels of the organization.

  • Solid analytical skills; able to think strategically.

  • BA/BS from a four year university and equivalent work experience is required.

  • Excellent verbal, written skills are required. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical and business issues and solutions to multiple organizational levels.
